Ombudsmen of Abkhazia and Transdniestria signed a Memorandum of Cooperation
The agreement supplements the document signed in 2008.

Sukhum. October 10. Apsnypress. Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Abkhazia, Asida Shakryl, and Commissioner for Human Rights in the Transnistrian Moldavian Republic, Vyacheslav Kosinsky signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.

Asida Shakryl explained: “Earlier, in 2008, a similar Agreement between the Ombudsmen of Abkhazia and the PMR was already signed. But since then in Abkhazia there was no separate institution of the Ombudsman, and the post of Commissioner for Human Rights existed under President, now there is a need to renegotiate the Memorandum. I hope that there will develop close, constructive relationship and it will help strengthen the mechanisms for protecting human rights. “Often we have to defend the rights of citizens of foreign countries, therefore such agreements help to solve problems of people faster.

For his part, Vyacheslav Kosinsky emphasized: “The memorandum was signed in order to develop relations between the parties in the field of human rights protection. Today we have acquired a new tool to protect the rights and freedoms of our citizens. ”
